As far as AOL goes, yes they use a spam filter, but all mail they consider spam goes into a spam folder, whch you can retrieve very easily, once retrieved aol will no longer put mail from that address into spam folder and send it to your inbox instead :-) Julie
Hi No it doesn't go into the Spam folder.. We had terrible problems over the last couple of years with AOL. They were barring IP or DNS addresses the same way NTL are now. The barred mail doesn't get as far as the SPAM box and maybe the proposed recipient never knows they've lost mail. We also found out that AOL had different SPAM settings in different localities so getting the problem cured in Connecticut didn't cure it in Arizona. Suggestions to dump NTL are not that helpful. We need to find out what list NTL are using to block mail and/or how we can affect/correct that list. cheers Bob Phillips ----- Original Message ----- From: <JAP148@aol.com> To: <FreeBMD-Admins-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, January 01, 2006 9:32 PM Subject: Re: Problems with NTL > As far as AOL goes, yes they use a spam filter, but all mail they consider > spam goes into a spam folder, whch you can retrieve very easily, once retrieved > aol will no longer put mail from that address into spam folder and send it to > your inbox instead :-) > > Julie > > > ==== FreeBMD-Admins Mailing List ==== > List archives > http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/freebmd-admins > > ============================== > Search the US Census Collection.
