Sorry, My last should have said Cuckfield of course -----Original Message----- From: JeremyHakes [mailto:jeremy@hakes7476.freeserve.co.uk] Sent: 17 January 2006 18:08 To: 'FreeBMD-Admins-L@rootsweb.com' Subject: RE: Page Numbers My best advice is to TWYS. The Page Range for Cuckney for Births in that quarter actually gives 259 to 285 which is not consitant with the enries you have and there is no way to tell whether the entries in the Register at the time the scan was made were legitamate or not Regards Jeremy -----Original Message----- From: Chris Hughes [mailto:hughes.11@tiscali.co.uk] Sent: 17 January 2006 15:55 To: FreeBMD-Admins-L@rootsweb.com Subject: RE: Page Numbers Jeremy, That made me compare the 2 entries and may give part of the answer! The files are 1911B3P0316 & 0319. The Surname is PRIOR in 0316 & PRYOR in 0319, but otherwise it's the same birth. We will then be in a better position to give advise. It may be that you have references to registrations that was recorded in a later year but it is virtually impossible to say without seeing them. However in my current batch I found 2 hand-written "late" entries with strange page numbers. These are in 1911. One says just "0004/s" The other looks like "code/3"; I'd like it to be 0000/3 but really cannot support it!! Now there's no problem in uploading them (other than the usual warning for non-standard page number) but I am intrigued to know what the indexer had in mind. Can anyone throw any light?
