My suggestion is that you use WinBMD instead of the older program SpeedBMD. It is rather easier to use, is designed for use with Windows, and if you happen to be in a syndicate that wants SpeedBMD format in transcriptions, you can set 'SpeedBMD Format' in the 'Options' menu in WinBMD.
