    3. I am currently transcribing 1912 Marriages Ql Scan Page 0204. 1) I have an insertion that will be in the correct place for surname, but not for forenames, if it is put where the insertion mark indicates and so creates an "out of sequence" message. Do I put it where indicated or should it be inerted in the correct position? It seems to me that moving an entry from one incorrect position to another incorrect position serves no purpose. 2) In the forename column I have the entry Erskine,Rosabelle M. The program will not allow me to enter this Should I enter it as Erskine R.M. Regards to everyone jdn

    3. Hi jdn 1 Either enter it as it is or enter it where the insertion mark indicates. Please do not make your own corrections, sensible as it seems. 2 To enter any part of a entry that contains a comma enclose the part in quotation marks. BUT I see the entry as Surname St Clair Erskine Forename Rosabelle M. and insertion marks to move the entry to follow St.Clair Lillie How you interpret the entry is up to you. good luck Bob Phillips ----- Original Message ----- From: "jdn" <jdn@rosscott.wanadoo.co.uk> To: <FreeBMD-Admins-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, October 13, 2005 11:46 AM Subject: Insertions > I am currently transcribing 1912 Marriages Ql Scan Page 0204. > > 1) I have an insertion that will be in the correct place for surname, but > not for forenames, if it is put where the insertion mark indicates and so > creates an "out of sequence" message. > Do I put it where indicated or should it be inerted in the correct position? > It seems to me that moving an entry from one incorrect position to another > incorrect position serves no purpose. > > 2) In the forename column I have the entry Erskine,Rosabelle M. > The program will not allow me to enter this > Should I enter it as Erskine R.M. > > Regards to everyone > jdn > > > > > ==== FreeBMD-Admins Mailing List ==== > FreeBMD - http://FreeBMD.rootsweb.com > > ============================== > Search the US Census Collection.
