Having survived the challenges of 1846 handwriting, I now find myself in 1913 marriages, with a column for the spouse's name. Entry # 13(g) in the Knowledge Base alludes to this -- noting the "extra field" but not really telling us what to do with it. The entry suggests that there may be an upgrade of the data entry software to accommodate this field (not a middle name, after all) "if FreeBMD can accept it" but MacBMD, at least, lacks this feature. I know I saw something on this recently on the list, but I don't know how to access the listserv archives. Would a kind soul tell me the current practice? I am all in favor of TWYS but I suspect that a spouse's name is not the same thing as a title. On a related subject, in 1913 they were not leaving spaces between abbrieviations and main names of districts -- S.Moulton instead of S. Moulton. Since I know that characters have their own ascii codes, I assume that we TWYS and that there is a mapping function somewhere down the line where S.Moulton and S. Moulton will be normalized. Thanks in advance, Kate McCain
