I'm guessing, but what I think it is about is the fact the General Register Office is going to put Births Marriages and Deaths Online in about 5 years and is getting cheap labour in India to do the job. God knows what the result will be! But I'm guessing again that there will be more mistakes on their database than we have on Free BMD. Also theirs will not be free as we have all found out from the 1901 Census! The idea is that you will be able to buy certificates Online instead of ordering them though either the General Register Office or Local Registry Offices.
