Never mind....I could see when verifying this page, that it was just a capital A with quite a flourish. ----- Original Message ----- From: Wanda<mailto:woodwand@msn.com> To: FreeBMD-Admins-L@rootsweb.com<mailto:FreeBMD-Admins-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 06, 2005 5:57 PM Subject: Handwritten entry Hello all, I'm transcribing 1907D4O0233. At the bottom of the middle column, there is a handwritten entry & it's clear where to insert it. I have transcribed it: OXBY, SAnnie Chester le S.,10a 362a. The only way I could figure out the district was because of the entry before. There seems to be an obvious S in front of Annie, so I transcribed it thus. That puts me out of sequence (hate when that happens!). Does anyone know what that could be besides an "S"? I thought that the first Annie entry (aged 25) might be a mother who died in childbirth with twins, but would the death of twins be registered on two different, widely spaced pages? Thanks for any help, Wanda
