Use Excel to open the WinBMD_A_Districts file, selecting "delimited" and comma as delimiter. This will load the file into Excel with districts in column A and Volumes in column B. Then sort the Excel file on column B, and you will have a list of Districts in volume order. -- Dave Mayall ---------------------------------------------- This mail sent through http://www.ukonline.net
Hi A bit late but nevertheless a useful tip given to me by Ian, one of the FreeBMD boffins In WinBMD, in the district field on the input grid, type ",1a" (that's comma 1a without the quotes, the comma must be the first character in the box) and it will list in the picklist all the 1a districts. You may need to increase the number of rows shown in the picklist to see them all. I find this VERY useful Regards Steve ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dave Mayall" <david.mayall@ukonline.co.uk> To: <FreeBMD-Admins-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Thursday, March 10, 2005 10:29 AM Subject: Re: Is there a file to printout > Quoting Robb <rob_roy@paradise.net.nz>: > >> Thanks to all who have responded .. >> >> To print WinBMD_A_Districts (original file) >> you get below .... >> >> >> Aberayron,11b >> Abergavenny,11a >> Aberystwyth,11b >> Abingdon,2c >> Alcester,6d >> Alderbury,5a >> Alnwick,10b >> Alresford,2c >> Alston,10b >> >> What I would like is ...
