    3. Hi all I am in trouble again. In scan 1849M2-W-0394, there is a region I cannot work out. It is the second-last Watts (last George) in the first column. The letters appear to be (to me) Fr (or i) orenoe. Any idea anyone. Thanks in advance. Brian -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. 3. Hello Brian, If you look in WinBMD Help and from the index select "Districts", it tells you to try F*:XIII which you can see from the scan. WinBMD suggests 3 districts. If you can't match the district to any of these, then by all means request some help. But it is your transcription, and you should be putting what you can see, not what others on the list see. Having said that, sometimes the minute somebody says "Oh it's Forehoe", we can see it is glaringly obvious and wonder why we couldn't see it before. It is always worth comparing the rest of the scan with any doubtful characters - it very often helps us learn to read that particular scribe's handwriting.
