This is covered by "Hints and Help for Beginners" on the Transcribers' Page: In a handwritten entry at the bottom of the page, instead of a district, volume number and page number there's Lambeth See S/98 For the district, select Lambeth from the list but replace the volume number by a ? and in the page column the characters as seen, i.e. See S/98. Note: This means that the entry was not registered when it should have been and was recorded at a later date. The example here from an entry in 1874 means it was recorded in the September quarter of 1898, quite possibly when she needed her birth certificate to marry and the omission was discovered. Kate.
