Hi, I'm transcribing 1930M4-M-0300. One of the entries is Mercer,Anne E.,Schonberg,Lancaster,8e,1396 - where Schonberg has an umlaut over the o. I've entered the umlaut in MacBMD but when I upload it to File Management on FreeBMD it gives an error message 'Unexpected characters...' and the name is Schsnberg - where the 's' in the middle has what looks like a crescent moon over it (sorry don't know the name). Can someone give me some help on how to get the umlaut over to FreeBMD database? Or could someone with mac knowledge confirm which key combination I should use to get the umlaut? (it certainly looks like one...) Thanks Shirley Scan2 scribble
