Hello all While the District Aliasing Team were adding the aliases needed as a result of the most recent database update it has come to our attention that during the Mar 1929 quarter that Leeds was used as well as Leeds South and Leeds North. Part of the investigation we did to decide upon the new aliases needed has involved consulting some of the scans, and this has shown that in a number of cases transcribers have transcribed Leeds North where the scan clearly reads Leeds South. This has caught out many transcribers, some of whom have been with the project for a number of years. So when you start working on a new quarter please be careful if you accept the auto-completion suggested by WinBMD because there may be new districts used and when you add them to the list the shortcut numbers will change.
