I've discovered in checking my uploads that my correction of the above rile will not be allowed to upload. The only correction was on Line 138 for a missing space between the "See" and the M/30. However, when II try to send that, I now get the message "Expected 6 parts in BIRTHS at line 158 got 7 (Pethcrick,Farrance V.,Lock,Exeter,5b,P/106, see M/30)" My transcription at Line 158 reads Pethcrick,Farrance V.,Lock,Exeter,5b,P/106, see M/30 #Comment This entry was at the end of page with no insertion in text above. I don't think BMD likes the five characters after the District Number, but that's what's on the page. Would someone please check the file and tell me what I need to do to get my upload accepted? Many thanks, Carol Haycock #609 Scan2
It's probably the comma between the 106 and see that it doesn't like. Is there a comma in the original? Or could the page number be P/106 see M/30 (ie. no comma). If the comma really is there, then put that field within quotes ... as per http://freebmd.org.uk/Format.shtml [quote] Commas within fields are permitted so long as that's how they appear in the source. Put the contents of the whole field in quotes. e.g. "St. Geo., Hanover Square" [end quote] or in this case "P/106, see M/30" Mark -- On 1 Nov 2008, at 22:14, Shirley Saunders wrote: > It's probably the comma between the 106 and see that it doesn't > like.
