    3. Hi, The problem of incorrect transcriptions should be picked up in due course by our quality control process of double keying http://www.freebmd.org.uk/process.html If you want to get the information corrected before that, then please feel free to submit formal correction requests (*) against any entries that you know are in error. You only need to submit a single correction to one surname from each event/Year/Quarter and I will ensure that all others affected will also be corrected. This correction process can take up to four months before the corrected entries are included in the searchable database. If you need any further advice, then please let me know Kevin S. Howell FreeBMD Corrections Coordinator (*) from the search results page, click the info button at the side of the entry you believe is in error and on the resulting page click the link to submit a correction. Complete the corrections form and send it. I will then investigate and arrange for the changes to be made. -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of Judy Twist Sent: 12 November 2008 10:42 To: [email protected] Subject: Kirkbride - Kirkbridge Hello there I have come across a problem with nearly all the enteries listed as Kirkbridge on the searchs you so wonderfully provide. Trying to find a birth for a relative I knew to have been Kirkbride I could not find her birth listed as Kirkbride on your search but found it under Kirkbridge along with many many listed over several years, but when I looked at the gro index pages that were used to transcripe this list the were all listed quite clearly on the index list as KIRKBRIDE no 'g' in sight, why have so many been wrongly transcribed? For example Sarah Kirkbride birth was reg in march 1/4 1912 at whitehaven is listed on gro index as such but on freebmd & ancestry search index as Kirkbridge and the same thing appears to have happened for many of her ancestors? Hope this can be soughted out as many Kirkbride researches will think there relatives where never born! regards J Twist FreeBMD-Admins mailing list - archive http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/freebmd-admins FreeBMD http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ ------------------------------- To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without the quotes in the subject and the body of the message
