I use Windows XP and presently have WinBMD in the Program folder and would prefer it to be just on my C/drive. Can I do this without fouling everything up and can I do it by just moving it. I find it easier to work with files I use the most to have them outside the Program folder. I hadn't thought I might be able to do this if the conversation hadn't come up re Vista. Thanks for any help Carol Haycock #609
Carol, you can keep the program in the Programs Folder, but define the input and output folders anywhere you want - I've put mine in Documents for example. -- Regards, Bruce -------------------------------------------------- From: "Carol Haycock" <[email protected]> Sent: Friday, November 21, 2008 6:24 PM To: "Free BMD" <[email protected]> Subject: Win BMD > I use Windows XP and presently have WinBMD in the Program folder and would > prefer it to be just on my C/drive. I have a shortcut to the WinBMD folder on my desktop. Find the WinBMD folder (under Program Files in your case, Carol), right-click on it, then select "Send to.." In the sub-menu which appears click on "Desktop (create shortcut)". Hope this helps. In WinBMD go to File/Define Save Path and specify where you would like to save your files. Move your existing files to the same place (but note that the Most Recently Used list in the Files menu will not then find the files; you will have to open then from Files/Open File). In this way WinBMD is in Program Files (which is where it should be) and your data is in your data area (which is where it should be).
