Jeff Valid point, I'll put a task on the system to cover two instructions. However I always took the instructions on http://www.freebmd.org.uk/addons/winbmd i.e. WinBMD is a separate program from SpeedBMD and should not be installed in the SpeedBMD folder, but into its own folder on your hard drive to mean set up a folder named WinBMD in the root directory i.e. C;/WinBMD. Maybe simply something for syndicate co-ordinators to mention in instructions to new transcribers. Allan I am grateful for the recent comments on the list about the need to install WinBMD in the root directory and not in the Program Files folder. I have just uninstalled WinBMD then reinstalled it in the root directory as advised. This has eliminated my problem of files being saved to a VirtualStore folder. I think the problem has been caused by people like myself, when initially installing WinBMD into Vista, accepting the default location in the installation process, which is shown as C:\Program Files\WinBMD and I'm sure that your offer of some clearer instructions will help.
