Catherine. When transcribing you should type what you see, not what somebody else sees. Sorry Tony but your suggestion is incorrect. It would be correct only if the original showed 'See Sept 24 or 34' or similar, along the lines of http://www.freebmd.org.uk/vol_faq.html#6u Catherine's original was the correct way to show doubt about the number, using UCF. Having looked at the original I read the year as 34. http://images.freebmd.org.uk/GUS/1934/Births/September/ANC-04/K-Z/1934B3-W-0497.jpg contains a similar entry and seems to confirm Sept 1934 as the reference.
