    1. Note on FreeBMD re Transcribers
    2. Nancy Frey
    3. I have brought this up before, but never received a satisfactory response. The message I am forwarding is indicative the many enquiries I receive in response to the note on the FreeBMD that "the transcriber may have more information" or something to that effect, leading researchers to think that these records come from our personal research. May I once again suggest that this note be removed and instead a note inserted "the transcriber does not have any personal interest in the names being transcribed". It take away from my transcribing time to respond to each and every one of these enquiries and that is counter-productive. 3. People, Apart from the excellent advice already given by others, you should also be aware that the privacy facility in your FreeBMD profile can be overriden on a file by file basis. if when completing the header page in WinBMD you fill in the "Credit To" box with your email address, then this settings will override your profile and the email address you entered in the credit to box could be made public. When completing full pages for your syndicate, it is best to ensure that the three Credit fields (Credit Name, Email and Credit) are all left blank. This advice is contained in the WinBMD help file which can be accessed by pressing the F1 key when the cursor is located in anyone of the three credit fields. Best wishes Kevin S.
