    1. Runtime error 429 again
    2. A potential new transcriber has sent the following message. "I am still having problems with WinBMD. I have downloaded it after switching off Norton, ensuring ActiveX controls are allowed and making sure User Account Control is on but still receive "Run time error 429 ActiveX component cannot create object". After looking up a fix on Google for error 429, all the remedies seem to involve making changes to the registry which I do not wish to attempt" I've taken her through 3b in the Transcribers Knowledge Base, but she tells me it still won't work. Any ideas? Dave Hunter

    3. I came across something that may help, it was new to me. A transcriber who had been having "Runtime error 429 " problems wrote saying: " Hiya good news John I have managed to get the WinBMD program to work. Apparently we have split the computer into 4 so we all have our own pc within a pc if you know what I mean. When I downloaded the program it automatically went to the Administrator which was my husband." If anyone knows if this helps I'd like to know Cheers John -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of [email protected] Sent: 20 May 2009 15:02 To: [email protected] Subject: Runtime error 429 again A potential new transcriber has sent the following message. 3. 1) Runtime error 429 may not be a permanent problem. She may find that by closing down her computer and starting it again that the problem is solved. That sometimes happens. 2) there is one other piece of advice that may not have been followed. When you download and install WinBMD, do not try to use it until you have closed down and restarted your computer.
