Can we close this discussion now please? I realise that those on 'Digest' are sometimes replying without seeing previous replies. The reply by David Mayall is the definitive answer. Type What You See. If you wish to insert a #THEORY line following the entry, as suggested in the earlier email by Charlotte Burton-Bell, then the wording could be #THEORY District likely to be Haslingden 8e but that is really not necessary. Use of #THEORY is explained in http://www.freebmd.org.uk/Format.shtml and in Transcribers' Knowledge Base (TKB) question 6(af) http://www.freebmd.org.uk/vol_faq.html#6af Jeff assistant list admin, FreeBMD-admins mailing list ----- Original Message ----- From: "david mayall" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]>; <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, June 01, 2009 1:05 PM Subject: Re: 1936M2A0009 > 2009/6/1 [email protected] <[email protected]> > >> I would suggest the district is Haslingden,8e >> > > No, the district is NOT Haslingden,8e. > > Regardless of what we think the district might have been intended to be, > we > transcribe what is actually in the index, not what we guess it should be. > > > -- > Dave Mayall > FreeBMD-Admins mailing list - archive > http://archiver.rootsweb.com/th/index/freebmd-admins > FreeBMD http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/ > > ------------------------------- > To unsubscribe from the list, please send an email to > [email protected] with the word 'unsubscribe' without > the quotes in the subject and the body of the message >
