    3. Hi Carole. I've just had a look at the scan of the entry you've described, but I can't see the capital L in the page column - only the number 376. Mistype, perhaps?     3. I agree with Sue that there is no evidence of a capital L in that line. It is important that you check your transcription against the original, line by line (or column by column if you prefer) using BMDVerify (or other methods if you are not using Windows) before sending to FreeBMD. I echo the praise for David Lang for the new version of BMDVerify and I strongly recommend it to anyone doing pages from 1930 or later. It also works well for handwritten pages, and the L and R buttons allowing you to tilt the image to left or right in small increments are especially helpful if you have a scan in which the lines are not horizontal.
