Hello I have a transcriber who uses a Mac and she needs to use a Special Character. Does anyone know if the MacBMD Program has a Special Character table or something similar and if so how is it used. Cheers Sue Coordinator of The Recordsmiths Syndicate of volunteer transcribers working for FreeBMD. See http://www.freebmd.org.uk/ for details of the project.

Hi Sue, I don't know what happens if you upload it but you can use the normal Mac OS key sequences to get accented characters in MacBMD. For example to get é you type option-e then e If you access the keyboard viewer via the flag on the menu bar you can see what key to press with option held to get the accent you need. What character does your transcriber need? Mark.
Hi Mark It was the e with the accent over it. I'll pass on your suggestion, Thanks Cheers Sue Coordinator of The Recordsmiths Syndicate of volunteer transcribers working for FreeBMD.
