I'm afraid I don't agree with Mildred's post. As a relatively new transcriber and someone who works in the IT sector, I'm very aware that the best way to make improvements to software is to invite constructive comments from all users or potential users. The comments I have seen over the last couple of days are from frustrated users who are making constructive suggestions. These should be welcomed, not stamped on! WinBMD is an excellent piece of software, but like any software, it can be improved. I would suggest that if we did "have to type everything out in full", it would lead to a rapid decline in the number of transcribers and the quantity of work transcribed. What will you suggest next, that we should be grateful we don't have to construct the .BMD files manually, using Notepad and DOS? Adam Knight
