We are transcribing 1953 Deaths, a series of scans in which the surname appears in CAPITALS. Unfortunately the useful Option "Surnames in All-Caps" doesn't work for the names like McCLEAN, McDONALD etc. as the lower-case 'c' will not appear. Type MC then CTRL+P which changes the C to c then carry on in upper case. What I do in this case is to select the "C" using the mouse and then press ctl-L. This converts the "C" to lower-case, leaving the rest in capitals.
