Go to the folder containing the BMD files. 2. Right click on the problem one and select Open with.. Notepad. 3. From the Edit menu select Replace. 4. Replace MC with Mc and tick the Match Case box (that's important otherwise it will act on lower case words like District names). 5. Depending on how many replacements you need to make either click Replace until you reach the end, or Replace all (but the latter is risky as it will act on other surnames where M and C are adjacent such as SIMCOCK). 6. Save the file. 7. Run BMDVerify. Dave Headey
Hello Dave, Yesterday I volunteered to do some transcribing and I sent an email re the newsletter. Since then, I have received this email from you but it does not make sense. I also received many others from various names all to do with Mc etc. It would seem that my email address has been compromised since sending my email yesterday. I therefore have concerns about this and the security.
