Charles Rudd,David L.,Blaupapier,Northampton,3b,100 #COMMENT(2) entry reads Blaupapier or Blue for mother's name Rudd,David L.,Blue,Northampton,3b,100 is correct There is an insertion mark for the handwritten entry it is after the entry Royle, Antony J. For late entries the Vol No is sometime missing, where this occurs you enter a question mark to denote the missing entries. Please see Knowledge Base 6(q). For information a question mark ? is only used where it is unambiguous that there are no characters in the column, e.g a missing Volume. Please see http://www.freebmd.org.uk/Format.shtml scroll down to "Uncertain character format". One entry has "Blaupapier or Blue" in the mother's name field. I have transcribed it as follows, per Knowledge Base 6(u). Is this correct? Rudd,David L.,Blaupapier,Northampton,3b,100 #COMMENT(2) entry reads Blaupapier or Blue for mother's name Rudd,David L.,Blue,Northampton,3b,100 Also, there is a handwritten entry at the bottom of the page. I can't find an insertion mark on the page where the entry would be in alphabetical order. Therefore, I transcribed it after the last entry on the page, per KB 6(g). Also, the district name looks like "Kings L.", with no volume number. I assume this is supposed to be Kings Lynn,4b; but, I know we are supposed to TWYS. However, FreeBMD won't let me enter a district without a volume number. How do I handle this case? So far, I have transcribed it as Royle,Barry,Woods,Kings Lynn,4b,See D44 but that is not strictly TWYS.
