    1. Possible additions to WinBMD?

    3. Hi Ian, Would it be possible to have buttons to insert #COMMENT & #THEORY items so that we’re all using the correct form for the database we are creating? In my case, it would generally be #COMMENT(2) entry reads * or * for Spouse’s name – with the user to insert the names in the correct case. If this is not deemed advantageous, could we have “copy” and “paste” buttons or codes. I found out how to do this, but to look it up within the program would be very helpful. One more item that I personally would find helpful would to be able to search the page for a particular item. In my case, I would like to search for “Staincross” to ensure that I have not let any 2b slip through instead of 2d! Thanks for this super program – I continue to enjoy my transcribing. Happy New Year! Patty Keffer

    3. The usual Windows shortcuts CTRL-C for copy, CTRL-X for cut and CTRL-V for paste all work in WinBMD. Suggestions for changes or enhancements to WinBMD are normally directed to the FreeBMD-Discuss list. The type of #COMMENT that is required varies a good deal for different types and dates of scan. A good deal of advice is to be found at Transcribers' Knowledge Base (TKB) at http://www.freebmd.org.uk/vol_faq.html particularly in section 6 PRINCIPLES OF TRANSCRIBING DATA Jeff ----- Original Message ----- From: "Patty Keffer" <pattyk49@bellsouth.net> To: <FreeBMD-Admins@rootsweb.com> Sent: Monday, December 26, 2011 9:37 PM Subject: Possible additions to WinBMD? > Hi Ian, > > Would it be possible to have buttons to insert #COMMENT & #THEORY items so > that we’re all using the correct form for the database we are creating? > In my case, it would generally be #COMMENT(2) entry reads * or * for > Spouse’s name – with the user to insert the names in the correct case. > > If this is not deemed advantageous, could we have “copy” and “paste” > buttons or codes. 3. My post arrived on this list because I clicked the button for submitting suggestions on the Transcribers' Page. I had thought it was going directly to Ian Brooke, not being posted to a public list. Sorry to have rocked the boat! Patty
