See Transcribers' Knowledge Base (TKB) question 6(d) about entries that have been amended, 6(g) about where to insert handwritten lines that appear on a page. See TKB 6(z) about what to do with entries that have been crossed through, TKB 6(u) about the 'Surname 1 or Surname 2' entries, TKB 6(am) where the same entry has multiple page numbers, districts etc. These are the most common issues with Births pages. http://www.freebmd.org.uk/vol_faq.html is where you find TKB. 0340/S type entries usually have four digits in front of /S, sometimes fewer if a leading zero has been omitted.
