I recently ran a saved search too and had numerous entries listed as deleted. I am assuming it's because if the new servers and such. I ran a fresh search and all the deleted entries showed up as current. Rebecca Rodgers
Please send me the saved search and I will investigate. Instead of new additions there was a number of deletions. One result came back: "No Additional Records from the saved search run on 01/03/2005 08:10:26 but 691 records have been deleted." 691! On checking one of the deleted records with the image I find the transcription is correct. Why is it marked as deleted? Is this just a temporary error caused by the current "Load Balancing" and "Data Tuning" etc? I can send my Saved Search file by private mail if neccessary. Update to my earlier message: Doing a fresh search for the one record I mention below, the record does turn up, but is still listed as deleted when I run my Saved Search. I am presently transcribing a scan (1854D2J0877) where the surname and forenames are unreadable on the last part of the page. The districts and page numbers are easy to read and I can transcribe them without problem. I know that the surname is the same on the whole page and it follows on the next scan, however, following the rule of TWY, I feel I must put * in the surname section. I'm assuming then that these entries will not appear on Free BMD at all without a first and last name. Am I transcribing correctly by inserting * for surname and forename. Thanks Nina Hart Scan 2 Syndicate
I am transcribing a page, but the top line(s) is missing. I can see a very minute part of the bottom of the words, but not enough to be able to make out what it says. Should I just write *,*,*,*,* for the top line? If anyone is interested, the page is http://images.freebmd.org.uk/GUS/1863/Deaths/June/UKD-02/K-T/1863D2-T-0985.tif Thanks Tracy.

I'm doing handwritten scans which only have 40 names per scan and I'd dearly love to put 5 or 10 together, but BMDVerify doesn't support it and I don't want to lose that capability. So check that before you ask. Chris

Hi In the Beginners Hints & Help it mentions that multiple pages can be transcribed as one file if the syndicate allows it. I can't find anything though to explain why it should, or not, be allowed. Are there rules about this or is it just choice? We are transcribing 2-page scans. Thanks Lesley

The page I am currently transcribing has a known out of sequence entry i.e. the entry has two asterisks denoting the out of sequence entry and where it should have been. Do I put it in sequence or leave it?
Hi Steph, It sounds as though you are missing the +PAGE entries. Details of +PAGE, can be found about halfway down http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/beginhelp.shtml in the section headed Instructions for the use of +PAGE,n. If this does not provide you an answer, please provide more details of what you have done and the exact error messages you are receiving.
