    3. I am transcribing 1906D4-H-0155 and at the bottom of column 3 are two characters. One not sure of, the other looks like a 2. Where should I put these, there doesn't appear to be an indication mark anywhere. Thank you Marilyn

    3. I am transcribing marriages for June quarter of 1856. I have just completed the "M"s, and am now starting the "N"s. The last file of the Ms was named correctly as 1856M21276 The first file of the Ns should have been 1856N21277. Instead it was named 1856M21277 [ie the M should have been changed to N but wasn't.] Will this be a problem? Barbara -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Anti-Virus. 3. The M is for Marriages. It won't change. If you put the first letter of the first surname on the page in the header details at upper right, below the page number, I would expect you to have filenames 1856M2M1276 and 1856M2N01277, if your pages are numbered 1276 and 1277. From WinBMD transcribing grid, use Edit Header Details in the Edit menu to insert the letter. 3. Can you give specific examples - giving page reference? If these are 1860s marriages they used X X marks to show where entries needed to be re-arranged. 3. Just recently I have come across markings on various scans that show entries to be out of sequence. As these markings may have been made by people other than the original scribe I have transcribed the file as it is shown. Whereas with handwritten entries at the end of columns I insert them where there is an insertion point shown. Can someone please confirm that this is the correct procedure. Thank-you Keith

    3. Hi The page I am currently transcribing has the following handwritten addition at the foot of a column: Osner Philip St. Geo. East. 332A Under the "Osner" there is an arrow with the additional words "also Ouzner". The "Osner" entry has an insertion point at the right place in the index. I have currently transcribed this at the insertion point, and added a #COMMENT line explaining the other addition. Before I upload, is this correct or should I be doing something else with the "Ouzner" entry? The page is December births 1903, p 405. Any help gratefully received. Thanks Veronica Elleson

    3. They are combined into the main database about once a month. The last update was on 16th June. As the update takes several days to run, the files included are normally those already with FreeBMD about a week or ten days earlier. See http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/db-latest.shtml You can check that files you have sent to FreeBMD have arrived safely by going to http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/bmd-files.pl and using your submitter id and password. Your co-ordinator also has ways of checking what files you have sent in. Jeff
