    2. Keith
    3. I have just been asked a question regarding the registration of a birth. If a person was born on the last day of December in a particular year is it possible to have that person shown in the following year's first quarter. My initial response was no but then some doubt set in. Can somebody give me a definite answer please. Thanks Keith

However the name to be inserted actually appears at the top of the following page. Do I just insert the name where indicated then leave it off of the next page? Any suggestions, or authoritative instructions? Jeff

    1. missing district
    2. tina
    3. I was transcribing 1862 June marriages page 0524 letter R, and came accross a district that was blank, and only had the number 8 in the volume number. I could not find the exact information on how to add it, so I tried putting in a question mark and underneath a comment that it only contained no. 8. However winbmd would not let me send it like this, so I eventually put -[80] and left the comment below as well. This seemed to be the only way I could submit it. Is this sufficient, or is there something else I could have put and can edit it as? from TC.

    1. Age At Death causing upload problem
    2. Roger Higgs
    3. Hi everybody, I have a transcriber with an uploading problem for page 282 of Deaths, June Quarter 1878. There is an entry for "J. SMITH, Adult ... ", but the file would not upload if "adult" was entered as per TWYS. I checked out the Knowledge Base and the Hints And Tips For Beginners pages without finding anything helpful. The transcriber eventually uploaded the file by entering "*" instead of "Adult", but does anyone have a better idea which enables TWYS? Regards, Roger.

    3. Hello Keith, I have a copy of the WinBMD_install.exe program (506KB) which I could forward to your subscriber if you can let me have his e-mail address. I could also send suitable instructions as to it's operation as I also use the new WinBMD program. Regards, Alan. --- avast! Antivirus: Outbound message clean. 2. Keith
    3. I have a transcriber who has tried to get WinBMD to run via downloading from the website and from another syndicates web site. On both occasions the program aborts, they have even tried to run the program under safe mode conditions but to no avail. Any suggestions as the transcriber is keen to get started. They are running Windows XP. Thanks Keith

    2. JOHN PINGRAM
    3. We have just recovered from this problem for the first time. Getting no response from sending the Winbmd.ini file to Ian -he is probably on holiday - I used the sledge-hammer approach and asked my transcriber to download the zipped version of Winbmd from our syndicate website http://www.pingramsyndicate.org/ and I provided him with a small file that would open in the program. He is now up and running. I guess all that we have done is to correct some installation error. Jeff may well be right, on another reply, that the Internet connection may have been broken during installation. The zipped file would not need the connection to be maintained. 2. Jeff Coleman
    3. In order to install WinBMD the computer must be able to access the internet to collect any files that it needs which it discovers have not already been installed in connection with other packages on the computer. If the installation is tried after disconnecting from the internet it may fail. This may be the case here. 3. When looking at http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/Format.shtml you should be aware that such data is normally submitted as a RANDOM file in the Flat File format described in http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/Flat.html because this format allows you to mix quarters in one file. You can use ONENAME if you have batches of sequential names from the indexes but remember to put a +BREAK between batches. Barrie P.S. apologies for my previous posting which should have been to a different list > -----Original Message----- > From: Malisemcg@aol.com [mailto:Malisemcg@aol.com] > Sent: 16 August 2005 15:50 > To: FreeBMD-Admins-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Own research > > Hi > > I have asked my syndicate organiser this and he said to try > you, so here > goes. > > I have quite a few names and numbers from the Indexes, > researched from > microfiche at both my Local Studies here in Derby, and from > the Indexes at the FRO > on Myddelton St in London.
