    3. Hi Keith, I am probably stating the obvious but there is probably are mark in of some description at the beginning and a similar one where it should go on the page. Have you checked for an insertion mark where it would fit in the surname column in alphabetical order. Sorry if this reply is basic but I don't know whether you are a new transcriber or an old hand. Hope this helps if not can you give more info pls. 3. > I have 2 handwritten records at the bottom of my scanned records that > are out of sequence, how do I enter them, they wont save getting out > of sequence error???? Assuming this is in WinBMD, the 'out of sequence' dialog is just a warning. The file should actually have been saved ok. You'll also get the same dialog when you try to upload the file to the freeBMD web site with WinBMD, but again it's just a warning and the file should upload ok. Regards John K.Eason (freeBMD@john-eason.co.uk)

    3. Hi Keith Just enter them as seen, the message that appears is only for information and doesn't prevent the file saving. It will pop up every time you save the file when entries are out of sequence, but just OK it and it will be fine. 3. Dear Karen, There are several members of my syndicate who are already members of other syndicates. Before doing the coordinator job, I was a member of two syndicates so now I am in 3! You would be very welcome to use some of that free time helping us out, but be warned we concentrate on the harder handwritten scans!! 3. Hi! I am just wondering how many syndicates can we join? I am currently subscribing scans with TheRecordsmiths, and as I have a lot of free time on my hands at the moment, would like to offer any help to other syndicates, but am not sure wether this is allowed. Can anyone tell me if this is permissable? Merry Xmas and A Happy New Year to you all! Karan Antonio

    3. Can I please make a plea to everyone that any more registration problems are sent to the Volunteer Coordinator at: vol-coord@freebmd.rootsweb.com as mentioned on the screen which individuals need to access when they start up the registration process. These sort of problems can be resolved quickly by contacting the Volunteer Coordinator. We have quite comprehensive monitoring systems to identify the possible cause of registration failures. The glitch doesn't appear to be with FreeBMD As a one off, Susan you set up your registration on 11/12/2005 and the system sent an automatic email to you on that same day, but it wasn't until 16/12/2005 that a report was sent back to us that it was unable to be delivered to you. The three most recent problems have occurred with individuals using an AOL email address. If you would like to email vol-coord@freebmd.rootsweb.com with details of your email address, this will enable your problem to be resolved on a one to one basis. 3. Keith You have not completed the registration process and until you do so you wont be able to access the scans. Please follow the advice given in the automatically generated email which should have been sent to you (assuming you gave a valid email address) to complete your registration. 3. If you can see there is a record but cannot read any of it then, assuming you also cannot see how many characters there are in each field, you should enter : *,*,*,*,*,* i.e. Enter a * in each column. If there are columns in which you are sure of the number of characters and you can't read them enter a _ for each character. E.g. if you are sure there are four characters in the surname, but don't know how many there are in the other fields enter : ____,*,*,*,*,* There are other options if you are sure you can recognise some of the characters. I have looked at the film and the record is actually : FORD,Grace,52,Hayfield,7b,473 Derek Lowe ----- Original Message ----- From: "Stuart Davies" <stuartpdavies@ntlworld.com> To: <FreeBMD-Admins-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, December 20, 2005 6:35 PM Subject: Missing Entry > Hi > > I am VERY new to transcribing so this might be an easy one to answer.
