Here is a bio which appears in the Kentucky biography section on Rootsweb. It is for Joel B. Frazier, my gr,gr,gr grandfather -son of Joel C. Frazier and grandson of George Frazier whose posts appear earlier. I also have a copy of his obituary from a Missouri newspaper from 1890 or 91. It appears that his son James L. Fraizer born in 1848 is the only son who survived. His daughter, Mary Catherine married her first cousin in Missouri, Joel R. Frazier, so she too carried on the name. I believe that daughter Margaret married John N. Gibson Anyway, hope this helps someone..... George Frazier Gdudleyf@aol.com From the book "Kentucky: A History of the State" by Battle, Perrin & Kniffin" published 1887 the following bio was written about Joel B. Fraizer: JOEL B. FRAIZER was born in Harrison County, KY., December 14, 1807. He is the seventh of a family of ten children born to Joel and Margaret Miller Fraizer. Joel Fraizer, Sr., was born in Pennsylvania; he came to Kentucky at a very early date, and settled in Harrison County, where he lived and died. His wife, Margaret Miller, was born in Virginia, and came to Kentucky at an early date and settled in Harrison County. Joel Fraizer, Sr. was a farmer, and for several years was one of the county officials of Harrison County. Joel B. Fraizer was brought up on the farm, and received a common- school education. He lived in Harrison County until 1839, when he moved to Boone County, and purchased land and settled where he now resides. He owns 331 acres of land, all well-improved. On December 15, 1836, he was married to America Snodgrass, a daughter of Thomas and Catherine (Simmons) Snodgrass, of Harrison County, but originally from Pennsylvania and Virginia. To this union have been born nine children -- seven daughters and two sons-- Mary K. (*** my note: she is also listed as Mary Catherine in the Frazier Family Bible and she married her first cousin Joel R. Frazier), Margaret A., Bell H., Laura, James L., Emma D., Thomas J., Ada, and Lizzie. Laura, Thomas J., Ada, Lizzie and Emma are dead. Mr. and Mrs. Fraizer have been members of the Presbyterian Church for more than forty years. Politically Mr. Fraizer is a democrat. Note: In the 1850 Ky Census Joel B.
