Hello, I am new to the list so just got online with a message from Susan about a John Frazier/Frazer and a Coat of Arms for him. My ancestor is a John Frazer who was located in Bradford Co, PA in 1850 - before that he was apparently somewhere else in PA but I haven't been able to locate him. He was born about 1795 and married to Edith Miller before 1834. I think he had a brother Hugh, also in Bradford Co. and in a history, Hugh was born in Clearfield Co about 1807. Does this fit anywhere with others on the list? Beth Mulac
Beth, I am not connected with your line, but in my reseach I have found quite a bit of info on other Fraziers. I have info on your Persifor and his father. Did you know there is a coat of arms for John ? Susan Frazier
My lineage includes THOMAS FRAZER, his son PERSIFOR FRAZER, grandson JOHN FRAZER, and great grandaughter, SARAH FRAZER VERNON. JOHN migrated from Ireland to Philadelphia where he died in 1765. JOHN'S wife was MARY SMITH of Monaghan, Ireland. Persifor's wife was Margaret CARLTON, or possibly CLAYTON. Is this familiar to anyone? Looking for anyone who may have references and sources showing John Bruce (born 1690 in Scotland) married to Margaret Frazier (also from Scotland). They came to America and lived in Virginia but understand they were not legally married but lived together as man and wife. -- Steven (Czar) Page ------------------ Custom Web Designs Made Easy and Maintained For You!
Hi Michael, I am copying the Frazier maillist. If anyone could help, we would need dates. As genealogy researchers, we usually do better with help before 1900. That information is pretty free. After 1900, gets stickier because you almost need to be kin or at the courthouse to get information. Do you know Ben's exact birth date? My steps would be to go here: http://www.usgenweb.org/statelinkstext.html Then to Colorado: http://www.rootsweb.com/~cogenweb/comain.htm One of my clicks took me here: http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/hs/forms.html You will need to fish your way around, make some telephone calls, until you find where you should be looking for Ben in what year. Looks like If he was born 1910 or later - would be easy because one call to the State Health or Vital Dept would find it. If before 1910 then you may need to go to/call each county in CO unless you know their route thru CO to get to WA. Here are all the CO County Clerks: http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/hs/coclerks.html County Vital records offices in CO: http://www.cdphe.state.co.us/hs/vroffices.htm But important is to know when Ben was born. Another idea. Where and when did Ben die? You might try for his death cert and see if there is more specific county on it. I am jabbering but here is another thot. They are going thru CO, the baby is born, they just keep going, no birth cert in CO. But if Ben managed to get to Soc Sec age or WWII, he would have needed a birth cert (a delayed one) so it might be in the county where he lived at the time when he needed it. Birth certs weren't law until 1916 but they started 1876 and some would go in sometime after 1876 and have a delayed one made so you might some birth certs 1850 up but very few. Hi all, I'm sending this to several lists because the lines are intertwined. I haven't been able to get back very far with the Fraziers, so the ones below are from the Freeport, IL (Stephenson Co.) area. All resided in Stephenson and Lee Counties (Dixon), Illinois. Numbers beside each name are generation numbers. I'm willing to share info and sincerely appreciate any help. The Lorraine Frazier/Robert Harman line is mine but I'd love info on anybody here. Hello, I am researching the Frazier side of my family Tree. The Frazier is one of the main surnames names on my family Tree. I am currently attempting to locate any possible relatives and family members that we have lost over the years through relocation, marriages. This is the information I have on our oldest Fraziers: Thomas Frazier B: ALA 1860 D: AK 1931 Married Nancy Wright in ALA in 1884 Produced: Thomas Frazier, Jr. Mary Frazier Daisy Frazier Ellen Frazier Harriet (Hattie) Frazier James Frazier John Frazier Roosevelt Frazier Thomas Frazier Mother Salina was an Octoroon Slave. She was owed in Sumter County Alabama and worked as a seamstress. She produced 3- 4 children with her Slave owner. We believe the boys where named: Ben, William and George. It is said there was an also a Girl unfortunately her name was not passed on. After Slaver Salina married a Mr. Frazier (Mulatto) and had several children with him. Unfortunately many of their names where not passed on to us. The exception being: Elijah Frazier. He was a tall very fair complexioned man. He was a well known Baptist Minister in his time. He preached in ALA, MS, LA, and AK. It is believed he finally relocated to California. Savanna Frazier a very fair complexioned Woman with long flowing black hair. She had a Daughter named Mag. She relocated to Gary Indiana. Darkis Frazier. We do not know if she was an Aunt or a sibling. Thomas Frazier and all his siblings took their step fathers last name. After slaver Thomas Frazier and Nancy Wright -Frazier relocated to Richland Parish Louisiana. This is where all their children where raised. Finally they relocated to Jefferson County Arkansas. I have noted Thomas Frazier and his family in the census of 1900, 1910 and 1920 in all three states. From Thomas and Nancy Wright -Frazier I have over 3000 decedents names on our family Tree. Thank you in advance for any information. Sincerely, S. Ferguson
Sharon, I could not figure out how to send the message to everyone at the Frasier-Frazier Web Site, so I was hoping you could post this on your site and ask everyone to respond to me at itcscrog@aol.com. My great-great-grandfather was William Thomas Fraser (Frazier), born 8 Nov 1824 in Maryland, married Susan Kistler 25 Oct 1853 in Prentiss County, Mississippi, and died 8 Mar 1894 in Booneville, Mississippi. I think his father may have been John Frazier, born Connecticutt 1804, died 1855. But I don't know for certain if that is correct. I would appreciate any help from anyone who might have a connection to this line. Thank you for your help. Bill Scroggin Chesterfield, Mo. P.S. Sharon, my user name showed up as Bill Scroggin Scroggin so that should be changed. Please let me know how to post a message. I have AOL 4.0.
Kristina, If you got my email from this list, please contact me again. Since I wrote you about "no Nancy" I've received vai email from a "new" Frazier cousin who tells me about a Nancy ? marrying George Frazier who was b.abt 1808 in Floyd Co.KY. This would have made him about the right age to have married Nancy Anybody:) Carleen

Abigail FRAZIER, b. about 1794 NC, married John CHRISTY on 23 Feb 1816 in Rowan Co. NC. Abigail died 6 Nov.1857 in Greene Co. IN. It is possible that Abigail had a guardian, a William STEELE. This situation may help explain why Abigail has been so difficult to trace. Can anyone help me connect Abigail to a family in NC? Roberta rsharp@csupomona.edu

Hi everybody, Here I go again. They say that the third time is the charm, right? I'm looking for anyone who is a descendant of this wonderful southern family of Creed Dillon Frazier and his wife, Julia Ann Manning. Creed is the son of George Washington Frazier/Sarah "Sallie" Dillon, b. January 13, 1833 in Henry CO., VA. He served with his three brothers in the Civil War and when he left, he picked up the family vocation of farming, in Giles CO.,VA. Later he and his family moved to Abbs Valley, Tazewell CO., VA. Creed and Julia Ann had the following children: John Easley Frazier b. 1857 James Oscar Frazier b. 1858 Creed Fulton Frazier b. 1860 Lena Burk Frazier b. 1862 George Andrew Tyler b. 1865 Sallie Margaret Lee Frazier b. 1867 Tobias Manning Frazier b. 1869; he died in 1890 at the age of 21 Daniel Hoge Frazier b. 1870 William McTyre Frazier b. 1872 Wade Hampton b. 1877 One would think out of a family of 10 children that one of their descendants would be interested in genealogy and on line. But to date, I have found no one. My gr. gather was William Mctyre Frazier, please someone, doesn't anyone know this family? One note; although Creed served in the Civil War, you can see it did not hinder his procreation, for Julia Ann dutifully kept producing children right through the War years. He must have been stationed mighty close to home. It sure goes to show what one can do with a week-end pass, doesn't it. Sincerely, Jeannie Frazier jeannie.frazier@worldnet.att.net
