    2. In a message dated 5/1/2001 11:46:16 PM Pacific Daylight Time, cfadlam@ionet.net (Carleen Frazier-Adlam)writes: << I have reason > to > > > believe that my brick wall, my 4th GGrandfather, John Frazier may have > > > gotten to America sometime BEFORE 1771 where I find him and his wife > Mary ? > > > Frazier with quite a lot of land and 2 sons, one of whom was my 3 > > > GGrandfather., Solomon. >> Carleen - to let you know that I have a FRASER/FRASER family (and we all know that this is the same name as FRAZIER) that emigrated from Scotland to Quebec and settled in the town of Beaumont on the St. Lawrence well before the French & Indian Wars brought the 77th to Canada. I do not know the emigration date of the first, a Thomas Frazer "de Ecosse" who married Elisabeth Couet - he was probably born around 1708. But I do find the next three generations of this family in place in Beaumont: Thomas' son Augustin, born 1734 in Beaumont, married Francoise Adam in Beaumont - then their son another Thomas, born Beaumont in 1774 and married Marie Lageaux in 1802 in Beaumont - their daughter Luce Anastasie Frazer born 1821, married Achille Chiniquy in Beaumont in 1838. (This last couple emigrated to Illinois in the US.) So there was at least one established FRAZER family in the New World before the 77th Highlanders appeared on the scene. I'm sure there were others! By the way, FRAZIER listers - if you have any other information about the people I reference above - siblings, etc. - I'd love to hear about it! Cheers to all! 1. [FRAZIER] "Your illegitimate sister your mother doesn't know about"
    2. Gloria Frazier
    3. Is this your story?: Your mother is now into genealogy research. You posted on Genealogy.com/Family Tree Maker an illegitimate sister of yours born in 1954 which you hadn't mentioned you found to your mother thinking your mother would probably never be buying genealogy CDs let alone get on the internet. Your mother buys the CD from Genealogy.com/Family Tree Maker. The sister is on the CD and your mother didn't know about her. It really hurt her. She didn't want to know about it. And, that information going out on a public venue could have waited til your mother was gone. If this is your story, you wouldn't feel too good about what you might have stopped especially during your mother's lifetime or maybe your cold heart doesn't give a hoot. Your ego would rather see your line in "lights." Or, some reason like, well, it is the fact, it should go in the family history NOW. Genealogy.com/Family Tree Maker is in this business to make money. If you have a page at Genealogy.com/Family Tree Maker or out on a site, they are selling it, even if it is your guess, incorrect or hurtful. Someone else gave one of my lines to their commercial adventure. That person will never get another piece of information from me. And, now, I only give out lines before 1900. Anyone can do with that information what they wish, whether the information is correct, theory, or whatever. I wrote to the vultures. Like the majority of us researchers, I don't have enough money to "go after" a corporation. Hurting people is not a fun part of genealogy. Good luck with your research. 3. Hello fellow FRAZIER researcher, I just found my grandfather's burial site after al these years. Isaac Thomas Frazier b. 2-18-1853 LA d. 1-14-1926 Angus, Texas. He is buried in the Hamilton, Cemetery. All of the information above was given by the informant, H.B. Frazier. This information does not square with my research. 1880 Cherokee County Alabama Census Here he was 21 years old, living with his wife and first child and he or his wife says he was born in AL. This shows he was born abt 1858. 1910 Bell County Texas Census Here he was 54 with most of his children. Here he would have been born abt 1856. 1926 death certificate 1853. Known migration pattern: born probably Al or LA or GA 1880 Cherokee County Alabama 1895 or 1896 Texas ? 1910 Bell County Texas 1911-12-13-14 Cass County Texas 1926 Navarro County, Texas These are just proven dates. It is unknown as of now just how long he stayed at each of these places but I am working on it. Hot leads: There was a Leonard Frazier and a William (Bill) Frazier living in Dawson, Navarro County Texas in 1930s & 1940's. The 1926 Business Directory of Corsicana has the following Fraziers living there: Clarence, Opal, Robert F., Robert L. & Addie. If anything looks familiar to anyone, please don't hesitate to e-mail me at J.J.Frazier@att.net Many thanks, Jerry Frazier Petaluma, CA.

    3. George gave you the virus, not any of the rootsweb maillists. Viruses can't go thru the lists so you can't pass it on to us thru the lists. The lists are all in text. Viruses don't cling to text. They cling to formatting. Formatted msgs to the lists are either converted or booted. I have always used Eudora email program and never have a problem with viruses UNLESS I open an attachment with a virus and I wouldn't have my virus checker turned on. You are using Outlook Express email program which is susceptible to viruses unless your virus checker is on "auto pilot." So no apology necessary to the maillists. If you have sent messages to individual people then you need to let them know that you have a virus and they probably/may have it, too. They may not know they are passing it on to people they are sending messages to because the virus sends itself to people in your address book and goes out on messages without your knowledge. Take two aspirin and you will be alright tomorrow. Oh, keep your virus checker on auto pilot. Good luck. 3. Dear Family, Friends and Fellow Researcher, First let me appoligise to those of you who will be getting this more then once. Unfortunatly, I have gotten this virus going around, and I know some of you don't know how to get rid of it, as I didn't. I have written to the virus doctor at Trend Micro and this is the responce I recieved to get rid of it. I felt this would be the easies way to let you know how to rid yourself of this virus if you don't know how. This is the answer I recieved. I hope it helps someone, and if I have been responsiable for any of you recieving this I am sorry. Unfortunatly I tried to open the file I recieved from George on the Campbell list and that is how I got it. 1. [FRAZIER] Ellis Island coming on-line soon
    2. Gloria Frazier
    3. FYI gf ------ COUNTDOWN TO ELLIS ISLAND OPENING ===================================================================== On 17 April, The American Family Immigration History Center will open on Ellis Island, to great fanfare. Genealogists all over will be logging in to search the newly created database of passenger arrival records of 17 million people who immigrated through the port of New York from 1892-1924. Ellis Island stands as one of the most prominent and recognized symbols of American immigration, with around 5,000 visitors a day walking through the same halls that many of our ancestors passed through so many years ago. To celebrate this historic opening, Ancestry.com will be featuring articles and Web pages to help you locate your immigrant ancestors. Look for articles to help you get the most from passenger arrival records, and take you beyond Ellis Island to follow up with other resources. For those who are unable to locate their ancestors in passenger arrival records, we will look at alternative sources. Stay tuned for all the latest information on the events planned. For more information, see the Immigration History Center page at: http://www.ellisislandrecords.org

    1. [FRAZIER] Frazier families 1810 Abbeville Co, S. Carolina
    2. In the 1810 census for Abbeville County, South Carolina, we have the following heads of families: (1). Joseph Frazier (2). James Frazier (3). another James Frazier.  I think that these are extended families, possibly containing elderly parents, etc.  I also think that these Fraziers previously lived in North Carolina but can’t be sure. I hope that those who have done 1700’s North Carolina Frazier research can help me with this one.  Can you identify who these people might be? I welcome guesses without any supporting documentation. Thanks. Dolin Hughes    DoFrHughes@aol.com

    1. [FRAZIER] Mary Frazer Scotland
    2. Is anyone out there looking for a Mary FRAZER born about 1840 that married Robert FORREST Jan. 17,1860 at Lochmaben, Dunfries-shire, Scotland. They had several children: William, James, Edward Horseman, Robert Thomas, and Thomas Lyall Forrest. James somehow ends up in Puna District, Hawaii and died there Nov. 27, 1910. I have the particulars on this family and do not believe they tie in with my Fraziers from Dearborn Co., Indiana as I once thought. If she is yours you are welcome to the information I have accumulated. Joan Handtke
