My greatgrandmother was Louise Marie Francois who married Albert O Duffy. They only had two children, Mamie Thelma (grandmother) and Robert Fred who never married. I remember as a teenager, after my grandmother passed away, I liked to go through a box my mom had kept that had photographs and I remember reading a letter Louise had handwritten claiming land her father, Andre, had left in Corsica. In the letter she gave details about his arrival in Louisiana. And, even though I cannot recall the details, she mentioned the ship's name and date. My mom, it seems, has the box in storage. I have only recently started researching my family tree and I have mentioned the letter to my mother but she seems to have no knowledge of it. I have not been able to find details about Andre Francois, only census info from LA. My aunt Norma, Louise's youngest sister, lived with our family the last couple of years of her life, she talked about Edgar! and Frankie, but not much about her older siblings. Are you related to my great grandmother Louise? I would be grateful for any info you might have on the Francois. I'm curious about the stepson, what was his name?
