Does anyone have any information about Francoeurs in the state of Vermont? There is a possibility that the family name I'm researching (Trueheart) is a rough translation of Francoeur and that my family, in fact, may have originated as Francoeur. Joseph Trueheart is listed on the census in Swanton, VT in 1840. Records from Swanton show that the name Francoeur and Trueheart were used interchangeably. Has anyone noticed this name in their own family tree? Have any Francoeur's from Vermont that we could compare notes on?
