As far as I have determined, my family is Francoeur only. They came from Canada and emigrated to Swanton, VT, where there are several Francoeur properties shown in the town records. At some point, the Francoeurs became Truehearts/Trueharts/Truharts and in Church records in Swanton, VT, both Francoeur and Trueheart are used to refer to the same people. Alexander Trueheart married Rosette Barton in Chelsea, VT in 1865. An Alexander Francoeur is shown in the Swanton records and may be the same person.
