Hi Ramona, I'll try to answer at least some of these questions. Frederick and Chloe Fraley are the earliest known ancestors of the Rowan County, NC line, later in Russell County Virginia. They had eighteen known children, plus Frederick had at least one by an earlier marriage. This is the line that the greatest number of Fraleys descend from, including Penny and, I believe, you. I am not descended from this line. Penny posted a few days ago a complete list of the children and their spouses, it is available in the list archives if you joined after the posting, or it can always be reposted. The next paragraph is not for Ramona, but is a general message to all subscribers. I would like to take this early opportunity to make clear that the tone of this list will be friendly, respectful, and sharing. It will not be a place for argument, confrontation, or flaming, but for calm and honest study of the facts of our family history. Sometimes those facts can be at odds with myths we have grown up with. When that happens we should not get defensive or upset, but should try to learn from each other. Working together there is so much we can all learn. Lastly, while I am the listowner this list is not "mine", it belongs to all Fraleys and those studying the family. I am very busy with other things and will probably be a rather infrequent writer here. I will intervene quickly however, if one subscriber jumps on another.
