Ramona, or Stephen, or ..... Perhaps I should explain how a mailing list works. No one sends "queries and postings through me, with no knowledge of what else is being discussed by others." Any subscriber may post a message, which is then instantly sent to every subscriber. Every subscriber, including me, is a Fraley family researcher just as you are. Nobody here "works for" anybody else here, or owes anyone else here anything, please do not issue demands. In order to make the best use of a mailing list, one should pick out an area of inquiry, post what is known, specify what is sought, and hope for a useful reply. Please remember that every other subscriber has the same right to their opinion as you do. I hope that now that you know how a mailing list operates, you will have no further problems. If you are here very long, you will have the opportunity to learn many new things, just as we all will. That is the beauty of a list like this. This doesn't seem to be a system that promotes open discussion of family trees. E-mailing queries and postings through you, with no knowledge of what else is being discussed by others renders it nigh impossible to make any relevant use of the system: it's not a forum, or a question and answer page because data to back up findings is not shared and discussed. How could it be, with such restrictive constraints applied to a supposedly open discussion? What good is it to state your family lines, to state that there are three Frederick Fraleys, when all I have ever seen are two, who happen to be father and son, to state that you descend from branches of the family of which, no researcher I am acquainted with, is familiar? > Steven B.
