To all researching Frederick Fraley, This is the proof that was used when I proved relationship to Frederick Fraley,Fryley, Frailey,Froelich. This information is on file at the DAR National Offices in Washington DC. Information from DAR papers of Mary Ruth Cox Allen DAR National #549532. Draper's Mss IXX20 & IXX24, Annals of Tazewell Co., Va.(Harman)< Roster of Revolutionary Soldiers, Vol, 2, page 205: Summers'History of Southwest Va. pages 1419 & 1420, Roster of Washington Co. Va. soldiers: also listed in Summers' 1966 edition, among early land surveys along the Clinch River in 1774, Fincastle Co., Va., page 811. Draper's Mss. he helped man Moore's Ft. (now Russell Co., Va.), Virginia Magazine, vol. 36, page 85. Frederick assisted as one of the troops who manned Moore's Fort in Washington Co. Va. (now Russell County) built about 1769 on the waters of the Clinch River. He is also listed in Harman's "Annals of T azewell Co., Va.", as one of those given on the roster of Revolutionary Soldiers, which was saved from the fire at the Washington Co. Va. Courthouse during the Civil War, when the Union troops invaded Abingdon. Frederick Fraley was a private under Colonel William Christian in the Cherokee Expedition, August, 1776. I also have proof of son Issac Oliver born 1778-died 1874, his son James Elihu born 1813-died 1893, his son Adam Collard born 1839-died 1921, his son Cecil D. Fraley born 1882-died 1960, daugher Irene Fraley born 1915-died 1966, son James Gilliam born 1934-died 1975, them myself. The DAR checks all these out and will not accept into membership if they cannot be proven. They also keep records of all soldiers that have been proven and they can be obtained as I said before by contacting the National Office through the National Registars Office.
