    3. Hi Kath, An interesting anecdote for "Relative Thoughts" should you wish to publish.... Many many years ago when we were all being introduced to computers, my son put my name in as an Internet search. What came up was very interesting. There was a Graham Redman in New Zealand, another in Malmesbury in the UK, another in Bristol UK, one in Vancouver Canada, and 8 names popped up in NASA, (same man?). Even later I found another here in Adelaide, but he died a young man. Even more weird, was that my brother is Warren, and the Malmesbury Graham has a brother Warren in Calgary, Canada. All this got me onto doing our family history, which most may know has now been published. Through this information I contacted Graham in New Zealand, who was a Finance Manager in Wellington. More weirdness, as when the Port Stanvac Oil Refinery was considering closing, Graham was brought here by Mobil, and he was booked into the Old Reynella St Francis Winery Motel. Guess what, I picked him up from the Airport and drove him to the Motel. We walked into the foyer and I said to the Manager 'Hi I am Graham Redman I live over the road, and this is Graham Redman your guest.' We floored him...he thought we were joking, but it ended as a great laugh. Next, I phoned the Bristol Telephone Exchange and asked the operator for the possibility of phoning this Graham Redman. She said 'Which one do you want? I have one and a half pages of Redman's.' 'Just give me the first one.' I said. So I made contact initially by mail and got no response, so I phoned the number and introduced myself. The male person said he was not there, and that he was a private detective looking for him. Next one, I couldn't reach the Malmesbury Graham so I phoned his brother Warren and he was OK but I did not follow up on him. Yes one last one, I contacted the Graham in Vancouver and found him to be the editor for the local newspaper in his district, and more weird, he was very involved in Model Railroading, as I am....but after a while we lost contact. When I tried again I found he had passed on. So sadly, my family tree contacts there led to no contact at all over time. It is amazing what the Internet can achieve. The lesson I learnt here is that please follow up these contacts sooner than later, and don't leave then for too long as I did. 3. HI Graham Great story with a real message for us all. Thank you very much for sending it. You can never tell until the research is done if people with our names are related and of course there is no end to the research. I hope to put it in this journal. If not this time because of AGM reports then definately the next.
