    1. Re: [FPFHG-LIST] Eat/Eatts, Pearce, Wright, Norton - Dairy Flat, Yankalilla query.

    3. I've done some research on the family of Isaac Wright and Eliza Eatts. However, I've only really looked at the branches connected to Reynella/Clarendon/Kangarilla families. There's a park named for Robert Wright in New England Drive Woodcroft and there used to be a metal book in the park with information about the family Wright family who lived in Hurtle Vale/Reynella. However, the book is no longer there. I believe Isaac Wright was born around 1823 in Langham Suffolk but have no supporting documents. -----Original Message----- From: fpfhg-list-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:fpfhg-list-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of Ros Dunstall Sent: Wednesday, 14 August 2013 3:20 PM To: FPFHG Subject: [FPFHG-LIST] Eat/Eatts, Pearce, Wright, Norton - Dairy Flat, Yankalilla query. Have received the following message from a researcher. Is anyone connected to these names ................................... I really only have three names associated with South Australia (that I know of anyway) and they are WRIGHT, EAT/EATS (and all it's various spellings) and BIRCH. I have a reasonable amount of info on the EATS (thanks to some very helpful people), but my brick walls are the WRIGHT's and the BIRCH's. My grand father Frederick Ongee PEARCE left Newcastle, NSW and traveled to South Australia where, using the surname NORTON, he married Emma Alice Adelaide WRIGHT in 1892. They had a couple of kids who were registered as NORTON, then Frederick brought his family back to NSW where they reverted to the name PEARCE and had more children that were registered as PEARCE. It's Emma's family that I have a problem with. This is what I know about them. Isaac WRIGHT b. c.1823 married Eliza EATTS b. c. 18830 in Cambridgeshire, England They married in March 1847 in South Australia and had 8 children that I know of. One of the children was Henry WRIGHT b. Dec 1849 who married Ann BIRCH b. c.1849. They married in June 1870. >From their marriage certificate, I know that Ann was from Dairy Flat >and her father was David. Henry was from Yankalilla. Witnesses on the certificate are John? EAT, a tanner from Yankalilla and Betsey BIRCH from Dairy Flat. I'm guessing betsey may have been Ann's sister and John possibly a cousin of Henry. That has been the extent of my knowledge of either family (I do have siblings for Henry) for some time. A few days ago, I found the SA BDM index online and made a few small discoveries. An Eleanore BIRCH (wife? of David) died in Yankalilla in 1879 Betsey BIRCH married George STEVENS in Yankalilla in 1883 David BIRCH (aged 65) died 1884 in Yankalilla - relative(I think son) John BIRCH Apart from this, I know nothing of the BIRCH's and WRIGHTS. Mainly what I am trying to find out is when and where Isaac WRIGHT was born and when and where David and Ann BIRCH were born and was Eleanore Ann's mother. 3. Hi Team, I have some of the Wright family in my history, so from memory I may have some information, as the Redman family married into the Wright family. I would only have a few names, but the connection is there, and are on my great grandfathers side. Will have to wait until I get home to check. Regards Graham. PS For interest, we are feeling quite at home here in Moscow, and have travelled into the cities of Tambov, Lipetsk, and Koorsk south of Moscow where we stayed for 16 days. Beautiful historical Cities all.
