Police Gazette 1871 Nov 8 page 178 Deserting Wives, Families, Service., & c James Richman Asplin, a shoemaker's apprentice, aged 14 years, 4 feet 8 inches, fair complexion and hair, effeminate voice, wore drab gambroon trousers, light tweed jumper, drab felt hat with white puggaree, and blucher boots, is charfed on a warrant, issued at Morphett Vale on the 1st instant, with deserting the hired service of John Brown. Police Gazette 1871 29 Nov pg 190 Deserting Wives, Families, Service., & c James Richman Asplin, charged on a warrant with deserting the hired service of John Brown, at Morphett Vale, has been arrested by P T McKeevor, and sent to the Industrial School for one year. Police Gazettes 1926 pg 404 INQUEST On the 21st December, 1926, at Adelaide, on the body of ALPIN RODERICK McLEOD, aged 11 years and 10 months, late son of John Alexander McLeod, Carnarvon Street, Cheltenham. Verdict:- "Alpin Roderick McLeod came to his death at the Adelaide Children's Hospital, on the 17th day of December, 1926, from injuries caused accidentally by the inflating of a motor tyre at Port Adelaide on the 15th day of the same month."
