hallo Everyone, This morning I was at the main Library and found something that was quite disturbing, apart from the new silly check-it-yourself booths. You may be aware that the library has a shelf of books to be sold, on that shelf this morning I found a book about "the Bell Family". It had not been catalogued and was possibly donated but had been put straight on the to be sold shelf. It was hard-covered and had probably cost a lot to produce, I had a quick look inside and it was about a Bell family in Adelaide. I took it to one of the Librarians and said it should be on the family history shelves, she took it from me and said thank you but I had the impression it would be put straight back to be sold. This is a bit disturbing if you think you are donating one of your books to the library and they just try to get rid of it again. Does the group have any family history contact at the Library any more? I did think the book may possibly have some interest to John and Jeanette Bell. The library could have also donated the book to the group instead. Regards Robin Hagedorn
There were Bells in Port Noarlunga back in the 1950's but I do not know anything about the family. Next time get the book Robin and put it in the Resource Room. Hi Ros and Robin Thanks for your info on the Bell family book. I am not aware that any books have been written on John's Bell family. His Bell ancestors came from Scotland and John's brother has a lot on the family history. There are Bells on KI but they are not related as far as we can find out.
