Apologies for being unable to attend Ron's funeral. Kay & I are in Canberra then. We would take this opportunity of offering our condolences to Carlien and family. Ron was always such a gentle person, ready to listen to whatever we were discussing and an overall lovely fellow. I will certainly miss him - and together with the loss of Tim . . it leaves us with heavy hearts! Hi Heather I have been looking at your Irish query. http://www.irishgenealogy.ie/index.html I dont know what research you have done to find Oliffe. If you have not looked at the above website it does have Cork records and looking at some of these sights helps to get our heads around townlands parishes etc. From what I can see it looks like more catholic records but worth a look it does have good info listing churches and parishes I checked and at this stage there are no records for Brandon but as we know they did not always stay in the area they were born in. I was lucky enough to get the marriage of my husbands gggrandfather and the image of the marriage register and it is free and does have good records for Dublin area. Have you been in touch with the other Oliffe researchers I see there are quite a few on ancestry etc. It may be a case of writing or emailing some of the parish churches in his area if he was methodist some of his records may be under the Church of Ireland. If you want to send me more info in private email will be happy to see if I can help happy hunting Lynn Dillon
