hallo Everyone, This morning I was at the main Library and found something that was quite disturbing, apart from the new silly check-it-yourself booths. You may be aware that the library has a shelf of books to be sold, on that shelf this morning I found a book about "the Bell Family". It had not been catalogued and was possibly donated but had been put straight on the to be sold shelf. It was hard-covered and had probably cost a lot to produce, I had a quick look inside and it was about a Bell family in Adelaide. I took it to one of the Librarians and said it should be on the family history shelves, she took it from me and said thank you but I had the impression it would be put straight back to be sold. This is a bit disturbing if you think you are donating one of your books to the library and they just try to get rid of it again. Does the group have any family history contact at the Library any more? I did think the book may possibly have some interest to John and Jeanette Bell. The library could have also donated the book to the group instead. Regards Robin Hagedorn
Well here's one 'article'..... The Redman's are still enjoying Moscow so far 3 weeks in. Will not be back until late September. We actually survived the Moscow Metro underground yesterday all by ourselves without our guide. We have survived 30 trips so far. Our mission so far has been to deliver medicines and food parcels to Jewish Holocaust survivors. They have some very interesting stories to tell. We live in luxury by comparison for their conditions, even today. Hope this is of interest, Regards Graham and Pauline. PS please don't let the finance numbers overburden you Sharon!! Pauline will come back..... On 7/22/13, Kathleen Fisher <kathfisher6@hotmail.com> wrote: > Early September would be fine. Kath Fisher our Journal Editor will be away for 4 weeks and getting the September Journal ready will be a test of her skills - especially with a new version of Publisher. The theme for this next journal will be REMEMBRANCE and in Kath's words - if you want to reveal any story about an ancestor at war please send to me - so with plenty of warning, how about getting organized and lets read some of the stories of our brave ancestors who went off to war or helped on the home front. I am sure we all have stories to tell. Ros
