    3. Hello Vanessa I do not use any of the ISPs that your mention. I am very curious as to why CHARIOT will not send your emails to the email addresses you listed via Outlook Express. Is it because their modem for emails is not compatible with CHARIOT or vice versa? I have never heard of this problem before, unless you have not paid your fees to be on line? I think you do a wonderful job in keeping us all in touch and I have used many of the addresses you have sent us and have found many documents otherwise not thought of. I can send emails to overseas, chariot, government email addresses etc but still not to anyone using adam, bigpond or optus isp's. Chariot's options to me (after many hours on the phone to chariot) are to get rid of Outlook Express - spend at least 2 hours downloading something else - even then it might not work. All sounds a bit suspect to me !! nothing wrong with Outlook Express. some of this problem with chariot not sending to Adam, bigpond etc is probably due to their (chariot) changing some of their servers around/over etc, didn't they mention that ?? >Perhaps it is because you are on dial up. doubt it. I've just been and re-connected my daughters computer and have tested the chariot - OE combination. No Problems. She is on dial-up with chariot and using OE . I sent myself 2 emails from her OE and have just rec'd them on my Adam acct. You can send attachments via chariots webmail - been there and done that as well. One other thing to look at and ask chariot is taking the sa. out of your email address and in the mail setup of your email client. Remember - check your emails via webmail before you down load them. yep, I know how that reads and yes I'm suggesting that everyone check their emails via webmail even when at home. previous email texts left in below for reference. 3. Hi Vanessa, The people at our table also said how much they enjoyed the Quiz night, and we thought the organisaton was excellent. Re your comments on Chariot, we have had similar trouble trying to send emails with dial up. We haven't been too happy with Chariot for some time but the thought of trying to contact everyone in our address book has stopped me finding another server. However I think perhaps it's time to bite the bullet! 1. [FPFHG-LIST] The AGM
    2. Vanessa and Graham Catterall
    3. Hi All Just a reminder that the AGM is due in November and I am hoping many of you are thinking of nominating for a position. All positions are vacant. The Committee usually meets on a Thursday evening before the General meeting on the third Saturday. The Secretary's duties are the heaviest but could be split into parts for instance minutes secretary, public relations, correspondence etc. Another Committee member looks after the new members list and information. I seem to have been organising speakers, publicity and trips this year. There are lots of little tasks, done behind the scenes that make our Group run successfully. Even if you don't want to nominate for the Committee we would welcome anyone with a little bit of time to help maintain the FPFHG. We need someone to organise the afternoon tea - Jeanette is hoping to take some time off this coming year. And we need someone to help in the Resource Room - it's not strenuous work and you will be shown what needs to be done. So if you want to get more involved contact me or one of the Committee if you need more information. The nomination forms will be sent out in October. And remember that old proverb - many hands make light work! Happy researching Regards Vanessa Catterall Phone 8384 7918

    1. [FPFHG-LIST] FPFHG Mailing List Welcome
    2. Julie Stokes
    3. Good morning everyone and welcome to the new FPFHG Mailing list for members of the FPFHG Inc. This list will replace the original Yahoo! List and will be used from now on by the Committee to communicate urgent and necessary notices to members. Members may also use this list to communicate with other members and with the Committee. ALL Members of the group have been subscribed to this list in DIGEST format - this means that you will only receive mail from this list when there is mail to be had. For example - if you were subscribed in List format, you would receive every single mail as is went through. But in Digest format, the mail sent to the list is held until either the quota (in size) is met, or once a day if there is mail there to be sent. Some days you may receive no mail from this list at all, and on others you may get only one, and on rare occasions, you might get two or three - but those would be extremely rare. What you get in your digest mail is each mail that is sent since the time of the last mail out - this might mean that there are two or three items in your digest, there may be only one, or there may be many. To send mail to this list you will need to send it to [email protected] - your mail should be in text format only and attachments are not permitted. There should be no occurrences of spam on this list, as all subscription requests are checked as valid members of the group. If you do not wish to be part of this group communication initiative, please feel free to unsubscribe from the list. To do this, send a mail to [email protected] with the word unsubscribe in the subject line and in the body of the mail, but do not put any other text in the body part, no signature or anything else. If you do not wish to be part of this initiative, please bear in mind that this is the principal method of communication for the Committee with members from now on, and if you are not subscribed, you could well miss out on some important news. A demonstration of how this list works and what you can expect will be given at the General Meeting of the Fleurieu Peninsula Family History Group Inc. On Saturday 16th August. Regards Julie Stokes List Administrator FPFHG Inc.
