Fox who served with the 87th Pennsylvania Infantry, a regiment mustered in York. Here is all that I know. Fox, Charles J., Capt Co E; mustered Sep 13, 1861; captured at Weldon Railroad and sent to Lynchburg Prison; mustered as 2nd lieutenant 3 days after his capture; paroled at Charleston, South Carolina, December 10, 1864; discharged Jun 29, 1865; born @1839/40 in Bayou Sarah, Louisiana; a tobacconist from York; 5' 8", brown hair, gray eyes; supposedly killed in a railroad accident in the "western part of the United States" some time before 1880
