Jennings Copyright 1997, 1998 Fox, David (p. 332) David Fox was born in southern Canada on 22 December 1846, the son of Charles and Hannah (Lefler) Fox who moved to Rock Island Co., Illinois in 1846. The father d. 1866 and the mother in 1879. They had eleven children: Mary; John k. in Civil War; Simon E.; Sophie and William who died in infancy; Samuel B.; Frank; Charles; George; Fannie; and David, our subject. On 1 January 1867, Mr. Fox married Martha Hahn, daughter of John and Serena (Mead) Hahn. Her father was a native of Germany and the mother of Missouri. She was one of thirteen children: Jerry; Anna m. Colman Brayton of Illinois City; Peter; John; William; Robert of Polk Co.;Hiram; Rebecca; Adam and two who died in infancy.
